I KNOW IT'S DIFFERENT Bear with me, I'm trying to make my mind set to designer mode.
Alright, I know for all of my Ap Studio buddies, "IT HAS WHITE" I know, I'm working on it, I just don't exactly know what to do with my self because with the background, ironically, i'm drawing a blank.
Anyway, I'm proud of this so far, and I can safely say, I don't know what my fascination is with making hair blow in all different directions, I just enjoy making it happen.
It's mixed media because it's both markers and Pen and ink.

Vision Originality Technique ImpactAhh dude. I really like this pic. I think you did a great job with mixing different colors to make the shading on the face. And the wrinkles in the clothes look nice!
Howeeeever, the hair looks a little odd. It's not exactly flat, but... Hm. I'm not sure what's up with it. :T It's hard to put my finger on it. But you seemed to have made her hair line a little... receded.
I think it would have been cool to give the triangles a more disorderly, 3-D feel. Make them pop out at the viewer at different angles! It would give the picture a little more life.
Overall, I think this is a good piece and will fit in well with your design portfolio. You did a very good job!
Oh, and about the white streaks in the background... I didn't really notice them until you mentioned them. I don't think you need to fix them unless they're really bothering you.
